Excuse me while I rant....

So am I invisible? Am I a mean person? What is it? It's Christmas time and here at work people are handing out cards and little food presents and they keep bypassing me. I SEE them walk into a coworker's office next to mine and drop things off (while holding stacks of envelopes or gifts) and then walk off mumbling they're off to my other team member's desk. HEY! I'm here too! I guess that means I don't have to worry about getting them cards or anything.

Stupid job. I hope I get a new one. And quick.

Bah humbug!

**Note: I should note for anybody that doesn't already know...I've been interviewing for a new job anyway. This Christmas slight isn't the reason I'm looking.

Huh?

Today I was leaving the bathroom and saw a coworker walking with a bottle of Diet Coke. I didn't think anything of it, as I see him all the time. All of a sudden he backtracks toward me and says, "Hey...hold this for me." Then he walked away. I was completely confused. I grabbed the pop and walked behind him...bewildered. I mumbled "Thanks" at one point and he ignored me. So I walked toward my office and then greeted another coworker who was passing me.

I came in and sat down and put the pop on my desk. I wasn't sure what was going on. In complete consternation, I sat at my computer trying to figure out what happened. Did he accidentally buy a Diet Coke and didn't want it? Was he being nice? Was he on crack? I couldn't figure it out.

Then about 2 minutes later, me still confused, he wandered into my office and said, "Did that confuse you?" My response..."Uh, yeah!"

Turns out...it's a Secret Santa gift. Not for me. He had grabbed this Diet Coke for her and was on his way to deliver it when he saw her coming. So he did the only sane thing he could do...give it to me. Apparently he'd never be seen drinking one and people would know it.

Mystery solved. Strangest five minutes of my day. I'm glad I didn't open it.

It's Rudolph Day!

My favorite Christmas show is "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." I love this show. I even have decorations from the show and a CD of songs from the show. Yes, I know I'm a dork. But I can't help it. Best Christmas show EVER. And it's on TV tonight. CBS. Be there or be a Grinch, Scrooge, or Bumble (before Yukon Cornelius rehabilitated him, that is). Enjoy the show!
