That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough of hearing and reading, petty stupid political comments. I've had my utter fill of people saying things like "Obama sounds like Osama" or "B. Hussein Obama."
Really? That's how you choose to portray your political acumen? Making allusions to terrorists and dictators?
All political pettiness is driving me nuts.
I initially made fun of Sarah Palin's hairstyle with a blog posting. But I have since removed it. It was petty and ridiculous (and a joke). I admit it. But I wasn't making her sound like a freaking terrorist or evil dictator! I was merely commenting on her style sense. So what if she wears the same damn hair style? Her skill as a leader and communicator is what should really be scrutinized.
I realize I have a few Republican readers. I'm not "calling you out". I'm just saying enough is enough. I can't take any more. This is not high school. This is not Jr. High School. This is an election for President of the United States of America. A very important decision, is it not? So why isn't it about the issues that face our country? This country is in a very bad place. This needs to change.
I am not a Democrat, though I have voted for Democrats. I am not a Republican, though I have voted for Republicans. I am Independent. I think for myself.
I am voting Obama.

Did you watch the debates tonight? I so wish I was in college again. If I were, I'd play the Sarah Palin 'Maverick' drinking game and take a drink each time she said the word 'Maverick'. I'd have been schnockered about 15 minutes into the debate. :)
In all seriousness, I do agree that people only show their ignorance when they try to tie Obama to terrorists because of his name.
I didn't watch it. I should have.
I think this post was PMS fueled. Or maybe I'm getting crotchety in my old age. stupid looming birthday.
You are right Webgal. People have allowed themselves to be duped into listening to pundits and sound bytes. Instead they should be asking real questions, demanding real answers. No more, I'll do 'this'. Oh yea? Tell me how. And don't assume I am too dumb to understand the details, if I have questions, I'll ask.
The campaigning in this country is done for the lowest common denominator and that is sad. Politicians should give us credit, it's the every day worker that has kept this country going and defended it for over 200 years. We will be here long after they are footnotes in history.
As for bloggers and pundits - if it's done purely for intelligent humor (Jon Stewart) it is one thing. But when you specifically set out to be malicious or leave people with twisted facts are salacious ideas, it's wrong.
Well, hello. You can blame PMS, but I only have passion! ;)
That's awesome you have passion! I have the same passion, I just think that I chose to write it down for the world to see was the PMS fueled part. I don't typically share my political thoughts in such a manner. :)
I think it's ok to make fun of Palin's hair. Public figures set themselves up to be ridiculed and I for one, like to see how they, and their supporters, handle it - with grace or otherwise. Can they take the heat on the little issues? If not, they won't be able to when big problems arise.
As for the drinking game, I like Palin, but if a person used "also" as the cue to take a drink, they'd wind up in the emergency room with alcohol poisoning.
