Just One More.....Bag

I have a love-hate relationship with these perfectly wonderful/evil pillows of succulence. Yes, I love these Reese's Peanut Butter eggs. EVERY year I fall victim to them. I can't pass them by. I THINK I'll be able to control my ability to eat them. But...in reality, I cannot. So I HATE that they control me. What is it about these tasty eggs? I don't fall victim to the other Reese's holiday treats. It's just the eggs. Those glorious abominations.

I had lunch with Monnik today (yay for sushi) and after mentioning my desire to escape this confection's peanut buttery clutches, she suggested I try to picture something gross on them to trigger some aversion. So...I'll try thinking about spiders crawling all over them....

....after I finish these last two in the bag.

Idea of the Day

I went to Target over lunch today. (Yay Target!) On my way there I passed by an elementary school. As I was slowly driving by I noticed that EVERY vehicle parked there was a minivan or an SUV. Then I had an idea....that would be the perfect place to shop for a minivan or SUV...I mean you have almost every make and model lined up for you right there. Sure you can't get in the vehicle or test drive, but you could at least narrow your options on what body style you want. And maybe some smart car dealers could install a brochure rack, so that once you narrow down your choices, you can research further.

So that's my idea of the day.

Sunday Morning Fun

Today I spent a few hours volunteering for the zoo at KidsFest. When I originally volunteered I heard a lot of people tell me I'd regret it, since KidsFest can be a madhouse. So I was prepared going in that I might very well have wished I'd never signed up. But I was completely surprised. It wasn't that bad at all. Of course, I did work the early shift, so that helped, but for the most part, people were friendly and the chaos was at a minimum. I did see a few interesting things, but the most surprising was a 3 year old girl with mascara on. Mascara! How do you even get a 3 year old to sit still to get mascara on?!

The local TV sponsor of the event had its booth directly across from the zoo, so in the few slow periods, I could watch local news anchors tape segments with kids. They also had their helicopter in the building, so that was interesting to see. I'm sure it was a hit with kids.

This whole event vastly differed from all of my other zoo volunteering as I've pretty much only fed the giraffes and helped with the education animals. All in all, I found it was a great experience, but I can't wait for the warmer weather when I can get back to the giraffes.

Friday Video

I'm having one of those extreme I-hate-work days. I think I probably should have stayed in bed.

So I'll just add my Friday "video". Yes, I'm lazy. I'll try write something more interesting/entertaining this weekend.

Night Fights?

I've been waking up recently with injuries on my hands. Scraped knuckles to be exact. How am I getting them? I don't think my walls are rough enough to cause it, so am I doing something else in my sleep to make my knuckles look like I was in a fight?

So far I have two knuckles scraped on my right hand and this morning I found a scrape on my left thumb. What's next? A black eye? A split lip?

A Boring Weekend

Well, the weekend is almost over. Boo. What did I do? Nothing very productive. I was GOING to read a book. I didn't. I watched TiVo, cleaned a bit and chiseled away at the remains of my driveway ice instead. Yes, exciting times here.

I headed out for a quick trip to the grocery store this afternoon and on the way back decided to take a little detour and drive through the neighborhood a bit. There's a street nearby that has a reputation for beautiful homes, but I'd never driven through. Oh. My. God. I want to live THERE! The homes are beautiful! They kind of have an old world feel to them and just look like they've been around a long time. I'm pretty sure the CEO of the division I used to work for lives around there. Lucky bastard.

Anyway...if I suddenly start earning something like 5 times my salary, maybe I can buy a place over there. A WebGal can dream....
