She uses highfalutin words

So I was thinking about my use of the word "behemoth". Most people would have just used the word large or some other plain word. I usually feel compelled to "up the ante" when it comes to words I use. I don't just do this in my writing. I'll do it as I'm speaking to someone. I suppose it can be fairly annoying. I know my sisters look at me like I'm crazy sometimes. Probably because they don't know the particular word I chose to inflict on them at that time, but still.

What is my predilection to use such terms? See....I did it again.

Maybe I'm just showing off. :) I do have a degree in English. Jealous? Oh yeah....I can tell. You're jealous.

You do have a very expansive vocabulary. It's why I like spending time with you. I feel like I'm learning something.

Especially since it's common for my brain to be incapable of conjuring up the simplest words.

"Pass me the, um, you know... sprinkly white stuff that you put on food..."

Yeah, I'm just a dictionary of pretention. :)

And you are far from having trouble conjuring the simplest words. Why just the other day you said the word "salt".
