***note: the following post contains technical jargon that may not make sense to many readers***
I work with an idiot.
He knows NOTHING about his job, and yet pretends he's an expert. He asks dumb questions over and over. If he doesn't understand the answer (and that's often) he seems to just take whatever minuscule part of the explanation he actually does understand and then morphs that into something he does, regardless of it being true or not.
He has a very strong need for everybody to look at him. His actions show it, his words say it, and his idiocy exemplifies it.
But today, he really surprised me. I thought I'd heard it all, but no. We got an email at work about server patching that's done monthly to ensure our servers are running properly and are defended against viruses. He doesn't understand that. For all I know, he thinks a server is a guy in another building pushing buttons to make pretty pictures pop up on the screen.
So what does he do? He goes to talk to the head of my department saying he's worried about all "this stuff going on in UAT". I'm not sure if he knows this...but....UAT is internal. Nobody sees it. He barely uses it to test. Now MAYBE if he'd have been worried about our Production Servers, I could understand his concern. But he wasn't. He was worried about a testing site. A testing site he isn't using.
Now that, my friends, is the idiot I work with who makes me wish I was deaf.
